The steps — phone, email, selfie, profile, plan, and ID verification — exist to confirm that members are real, eligible, and 18 or older, which helps keep bad actors off the platform. You can pick up where you left off if you don't finish in one sitting.

How do I edit my profile or photos?

Open your Profile to make changes. You can add up to four main photos plus a gallery, write your bios, and set details like your height, orientation, what you're looking for, interests, and location. New photos are automatically screened before they go live.

How do I change my email or phone number?

Open the avatar menu in the top-right and go to Account Settings. Use the "Change" button next to your email or phone, then confirm the change with the one-time code (OTP) we send you.

How do I delete my account?

Open the avatar menu, go to Account Settings, and use "Delete Account" in the Danger Zone. Deletion is permanent — your profile, messages, and matches are removed and cannot be recovered.

How does Safe Date™ confirm members are real and 18+?

Every member completes identity and age verification through our verification partner. You submit a government-issued photo ID and a real-time selfie, which are matched using facial-recognition technology. Anyone who cannot confirm they are at least 18, or whose identity cannot be verified, is denied access.

How are photos checked before they appear?

When you upload a photo, it is automatically scanned for nudity and explicit content and to confirm that a person is actually in the image. Your verification selfie is also compared against your profile photos to help prevent catfishing and impersonation.

Does Safe Date™ run background checks?

Yes. Before granting membership we screen applicants against public records and other risk-related sources. We may deny or revoke membership for convictions involving sex crimes, violence, or fraud, or for anyone listed on a sex-offender registry. Screening has limits and is not a guarantee — see our Colorado Safety Policy for details.

How do I report someone who makes me uncomfortable?

You can report a member directly from their profile, or open the Member Dashboard and choose "Report a Community Guidelines Violation" or "Report Criminal Conduct." Our safety team reviews every report and may remove the member. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Messages and community posts are automatically screened for toxic or abusive content. You can also turn on "Filter Explicit Content" in Privacy Options to hide inappropriate messages.

Use Search to discover members, with filters such as age, distance, religion, ethnicity, and more. Tabs let you see your matches, who liked you, your own likes, who viewed your profile, and search for someone by username.

Verification is peer-based. After you have a video call with another member, you can confirm they match their profile and verify them. These verifications appear on profiles to build trust. You can review members you've video-called from Member Dashboard → Verified Members.

Safe Date™ offers membership plans, credit packs (used for features like Deep Search), and Boosts. All purchases are handled through secure payment processors.

How do I buy credits, and what are they used for?

Only verified members can browse profiles. In Privacy Options you can separately set who sees your Gallery and your Wall to Everyone, Only Matches, or No One.

Yes. In Privacy Options, set "Who Can Message Me" and "Who Can Video Call Me" to Everyone, Only Matches, or No One.

How do I control my location sharing?

In Privacy Options, the "Share Precise Location" toggle controls how your location appears. Turn it off to show only an approximate location instead of your exact position. We still recommend meeting in public places for a first date.

Use Block on a member's profile. You can also enable "Auto-Block Reported Users" in Privacy Options so anyone you report is blocked automatically. Blocked users can't see you and you won't see them, and you can review your blocked list in Privacy Options.
