Colorado Safety Policy

SAFE DATE™ COLORADO SAFETY POLICY

Effective Date: Jun 10, 2026

Safe Date™ is committed to fostering a respectful and secure environment for all members, including those in Colorado. This Colorado Safety Policy explains how we address safety concerns, what conduct is not allowed, how you can report issues, and what steps we take to support safer online and in person interactions. It is intended to satisfy Colorado’s specific legal requirements while giving you clear, practical information about how we approach safety on Safe Date™. This policy supplements our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any other policies we link to our website. If there is a conflict between this policy and other Safe Date™ terms for Colorado members, this policy controls.

1. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Safe Date™ is meant to be a respectful and secure place to connect. We prohibit any content or conduct that threatens public or personal safety or seriously disrupts other people’s use of the service. This includes, for example, violence or threats of violence, stalking, intimidation, and persistent unwanted contact, whether it happens on Safe Date™ or after you connect elsewhere.

We also strictly prohibit sexual misconduct and exploitation. That includes sexual assault or any sexual contact without consent, attempts or threats to commit such acts, coercive or manipulative behavior to obtain sex, and sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent, including altered or “deepfake” images depicting a real person. Fraud and deception that creates safety or financial risk, such as romance scams, schemes to extract money or valuables, or misrepresenting identity, age, or relationship status in ways that increase risk are not allowed.

Harassment, hate, and targeted abuse are also prohibited. We do not allow bullying, repeated harassment, or content that promotes violence or hatred toward individuals or groups based on protected characteristics such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. You may not use Safe Date™ to plan or promote criminal activity, including trafficking, exploitation, or serious property or drug offenses, or to facilitate non consensual monitoring or tracking. More generally, any behavior on or off the platform that reasonably appears to endanger others or significantly increase the risk of harm violates this policy. When evaluating reports, we may consider relevant off platform conduct, including in person behavior and criminal activity, if it signals a safety risk to Safe Date™ members.

2. Background Screenings, Exclusion, and Limitations

To help reduce the risk of known bad actors joining Safe Date™, we use a pre registration screening process. When someone signs up, we may ask for identifying details, such as name, date of birth, and contact information. We may compare that information against external data sources to look for indicators of heightened safety risk, including certain criminal records or other risk related public information. Screenings occur when an account is created or reactivated and, in some cases, again later if we receive serious safety related reports or identify concerning patterns. The frequency and scope of periodic re-screening may change as our safety practices evolve.

Based on screening results, Safe Date™ will deny or revoke membership where we identify:

  • A conviction for any sex crime, including but not limited to sexual assault, rape, sexual abuse, or any offense requiring registration as a sex offender.
  • A conviction for any offense involving violence against a person, including domestic violence, assault, battery, stalking, or kidnapping.
  • A conviction for any offense involving fraud, identity theft, or financial exploitation that suggests a risk to members.
  • Current registration on any federal, state, or local sex offender registry.
  • Other criminal history, patterns of conduct, or risk indicators that Safe Date™, in its reasonable discretion, determines suggest a heightened risk of harm to members.

When evaluating discretionary exclusion criteria, we may consider the nature and severity of the offense, the time elapsed since the offense, whether a pattern of conduct exists, and any other relevant information available to us. Our exclusion criteria may be updated as laws, industry standards, and safety guidance evolve. The absence of a disqualifying result does not mean a member has no criminal history, screening results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. See the Limitations disclosure in this Section.

By using Safe Date™, you acknowledge that interacting with others, both online and in person, involves inherent risk and that you are responsible for deciding whether and how to communicate or meet with someone. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safe Date™ is not responsible for the acts or omissions of members, whether online or offline, even if those acts occur despite our screening processes. You agree to exercise reasonable caution, follow our safety tips, and use your own judgment when engaging with others.

3. Identity and Age Verification

Safe Date™ is only for people who are 18 years of age or older. As a condition of accessing the Service, all members are required to complete an identity and age verification process administered by our third-party provider, Authenticating.com LLC ("Authenticate"). This process requires submission of a government-issued photo ID and a real-time selfie photograph, which Authenticate compares using facial recognition technology. Members who cannot verify that they are at least 18 years of age, or whose identity cannot be confirmed, will be denied access. Notwithstanding mandatory verification, identity verification tools have limitations and can be incorrect or incomplete. Any verification indicator on a member’s profile reflects that the verification process was completed, it is not a guarantee that the profile is accurate, that the member has no criminal history, or that the member poses no risk. You should continue to use your own judgment and take reasonable precautions when interacting with other members.

4. Notice to Other Members After Reports of Misconduct

When we receive a report that a member may have engaged in prohibited content or conduct, we review the information available to us, which may include profile content, messages sent on the service, and any details shared by the reporting member. In some circumstances, we may notify other members who have interacted with the reported person that we received a safety related report or that we have taken action on the account.

We consider notifications in serious situations, such as when we receive credible reports of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault, serious physical violence or threats, significant stalking or harassment, or apparent scams or fraud that could affect multiple members. “Interaction” may include messaging, matching, or similar connection features on Safe Date™. We may send notice by email, in app message, or other reasonable communication methods.

To reduce the risk of retaliation and protect the privacy of everyone involved, we generally keep notices high level and do not share detailed allegations or identifying information about reporters. For example, a notice may simply say that a user you interacted with has been removed for safety reasons. We retain discretion over whether to send notice, who receives it, and how much detail to provide, based on the seriousness and credibility of the report and the potential impact on member safety.

5. Suspension, Removal, and Appeals

Safe Date™ may take action against an account when we believe our rules have been violated or when we identify a serious safety risk. Depending on the circumstances, we may remove specific content, limit profile visibility or certain features, temporarily suspend an account while we review a report, or permanently ban an account and prevent it from returning. We may also rely on credible off platform information, including arrests, convictions, or law enforcement reports, if it suggests that someone poses a risk to members.

We may suspend or permanently remove a member when we reasonably conclude that they engaged in prohibited conduct, particularly conduct involving violence, threats, sexual misconduct, serious harassment, or fraud. Our decisions are based on the information we have at the time. We are not a court and do not make legal findings, but we do act where we believe it is necessary to protect members and the service.

If your account is suspended, restricted, or banned for safety reasons, you may request a review. You can do this by sending a request to CustomerService@SafeDate.net When you appeal, we ask that you provide your account details, explain why you believe the action was incorrect or disproportionate, and include any information you want us to consider. We will review the original decision along with any new information you provide and may uphold, modify, or reverse our decision. In some cases, we may decline to reinstate an account if we continue to believe that the member poses a safety risk, even if some facts are disputed. Appeal outcomes are final within Safe Date™, but do not limit any legal rights you may have under applicable law.

6. Reporting Prohibited Content or Conduct

If you see or experience something on Safe Date™ that seems unsafe or violates this policy, we want to hear about it. The quickest way to report is through Member Dashboard page where you can report a profile, message, or other content directly from within the service. You may also contact us through our support email CustomerService@SafeDate.net

When you report a concern, please share as much relevant detail as you comfortably can, such as the username or profile link of the other member, what happened, when it happened, and whether the conduct occurred on Safe Date™, in messages, or after you met in person. Screenshots or saved messages can be helpful, but your safety and the safety of others should always come first. Submitting reports that are intentionally false or malicious is itself a violation of our rules and may lead to action against your account.

Safe Date™ is not an emergency or law enforcement service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or needs urgent help, contact local law enforcement or emergency services right away, and then report the issue to us once it is safe to do so. We may cooperate with law enforcement investigations where appropriate and consistent with applicable law.

Please submit reports honestly and in good faith. Submitting false, malicious, or intentionally misleading reports, including reports made for biased or retaliatory reasons, is itself a violation of this Policy and our Community Guidelines and may result in action against your account, including suspension or termination.

7. Notice About Non-Consensual Sexual Conduct and Applicable Law

Sexual activity without consent is strictly forbidden on Safe Date™ and can have serious legal consequences. Consent must be informed, voluntary, and ongoing, and it can be withdrawn at any time. A person cannot consent if they are asleep, unconscious, or otherwise unable to understand or agree to what is happening, including because of intoxication.

Non consensual sexual conduct may violate criminal and civil laws in Colorado and elsewhere. People who commit sexual assault, sexual coercion, or related acts may face criminal charges, protective orders, civil lawsuits, and other legal consequences. We encourage members to communicate clearly about their boundaries, to respect the boundaries of others, and to stop and step away from any situation where consent is absent, unclear, withdrawn, or cannot be freely given. Safe Date™ does not tolerate sexual violence or coercion and may remove accounts in response to credible reports, independent of any criminal investigation or outcome.

Safe Date™ is not affiliated with these organizations and does not control the services they provide.

9. Measures to Promote Safer Online and In-Person Dating

Safe Date™ combines screening, product features, enforcement, and education to help promote safer online and in person dating experiences. Our pre use screening process is designed to reduce the likelihood that certain high risk individuals join the service. In addition, we may review accounts again if we receive serious safety related reports or identify patterns that suggest elevated risk.

Within the product, we provide tools that let you block or mute other members and prevent further contact. Where available, you can adjust settings to control who can message you or see your profile. We offer safety guidance within the app and on our website, including tips about meeting in public places, telling a trusted person where you will be, arranging your own transportation, recognizing common scam tactics and abusive patterns, and using our reporting and blocking tools effectively.

We also maintain internal processes for reviewing safety complaints, identifying patterns of spam, scams, or abusive behavior, and acting on accounts that appear to pose a risk. When appropriate and consistent with applicable law, we may cooperate with law enforcement. We regularly review our safety practices in light of legal requirements and industry developments. Even with these measures, no online service can eliminate risk. You should continue to trust your instincts, go at your own pace when getting to know someone, and prioritize your own safety in every interaction.

10. Updates to This Policy

Safe Date™ may update this Colorado Safety Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or industry standards. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, provide additional notice such as in app notices or email.

If you have questions about this policy or need help reporting prohibited content or conduct, you can use the reporting tools described above or contact us using the safety contact information listed on this page or in our Help center.
